ACE III class members have been “on the move” recently, with new jobs, new homes, and new babies.  There are even a few celebrity physicians and authors among us…

Shannon (Brennan) Rohr moved to a new home in Oreland, PA last summer.  She teaches middle school math at a private girls school in Pittsburgh.  Shannon and her husband, Jim, are the proud parents of two sons, Jake and Ben.   Gary Hortsch transferred jobs from Residence Life at the University of Portland back into the classroom as a Religious Studies teacher at La Salle High School in Portland, OR.  Gary is engaged to be married in July, 2007.  Molly (Davis) Hahn was married last February and resides in Indianapolis.  She recently accepted a new job as Director of Development for the REALTOR Foundation, a division of the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors.  Norma (Aros) Holmes lives in El Paso with her husband, Alexander.  Norma is a program manager for the Education Service Center in El Paso.

Erin (Bergin) Earnst resides in Foxboro, MA with her husband, Collin, and two children Mary Clare (age 3 ½) and Liam (20 months).   Erin enjoys being a stay-at-home mom and occasionally doing contract work for Tom Snyder Productions/Scholastic.  She also serves as a Co-President of her local MOMS Club.  Erin reports that she recently attended her daughter’s first parent-teacher conference and found it unnerving to be on the “other” side of the teacher’s desk!  Erin also shared that she was proud to see her OKC housemate, Jon McGhee as the “expert doctor” in a You Be the Doctor segment on ABC’s PrimeTime.  Who knew that there was such fame among our humble class!

On the international front, Kim Kippels lives in Uganda, working with ACDI/VOCA as the Northern Programs Manager of a food security program.  Kim is based in Kampala, and she also spends time in Gulu, working with internally displaced people (IDP’s) in camps.

Obviously, there has been a lot of reconnoitering among our class members, as there are many new babies to welcome:

Mark and Shannon (Hogan) Farrell welcomed their second child, Connor Patrick, last January.  Connor joins big sister Mary Kate (age 2) in the Farrell’s new home in Simpsonville, SC.  Mark recently began a new job working as an attorney for Fluor Corportation in Greenville, SC.  Sheila (Navagh) Buck and her husband, Kevin, welcomed their third child, Matthew James, last March.  Matthew and his siblings, three year-old twins Kevin and Delaney, love being home in Rumson, NJ each day with their “Mr. Mom” father, while Sheila works as the Assistant Principal of Ocean Road School in Point Pleasant, NJ.  Mark Tannock and his wife, Kristie, had their first baby, Austin James, in August.  Austin weighed in at a hefty 10 lbs, 5 oz!  Mark was recently appointed Deputy-Principal at his school, CBC Fremantle, in Fremantle, Australia.  Mark reports that Mike Wigton recently formed a club for Star Trek enthusiasts in Chicago and apparently has changed his name to Captain Kirk.  Pete Slease and his wife, Jenny, are expecting their second child in April 2007.  Pete and Jenny have one daughter, Emma Grace, who turns two this month.  Pete runs the retail and commercial call centers of Wilmington Trust financial center in Wilmington, DE.  Pete reports that his job is “not nearly as fun as teaching, but the salary is a wee bit better!”  When his wife was pregnant with Emma, Pete penned a book about surviving pregnancy from the man’s perspective.  “Hold It Like a Football…Just Remember Not to Spike It” is available on Amazon.com.   Pete’s book makes a terrific gift for any expectant fathers or fathers in general!

Thanks to the ACE III alums who contributed to this update.  We hope all members of our class are blessed with good health and much happiness this year! --Sheila (Navagh) Buck
